We warmly welcome contributions in the field of wetland research, including ecological, hydrological, biogeochemical, conservation, restoration, and management perspectives.
Researchers, practitioners, early-career scientists, and students are all encouraged to participate.
Please note that we only accept posters as oral presentation slots are full.
All submitted material must be in English, the official language of the conference.
Abstracts should be a maximum of 300 words, with a title of up to 20 words.
No references should be included in the abstract.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that the abstract is free of typographical and grammatical errors.
Guidance for oral and poster presenters
In order to facilitate conference attendees' understanding of and engagement in your great research, we recommend you follow the guidance below.
- Please limit your slides to approximately 1 per minute, i.e. 12-15 slides
- Avoid including too much text in your slides / poster sections
- Make good use of visuals, e.g. figures, but do not include more than 1-2 per slide
- Consider using a color scheme that would not cause problems for people with color blindness
- Try and cover objectives, methods, results, and conclusion(s) in a balanced way
- Focus on one key message per slide
- Use clearly visible font size, e.g. min. 18-20 pt for slides
- Please prepare what you want to say during your talk for it to be clearly delivered at a reasonable pace in 10 minutes, followed by 2 minutes for discussion
- Oral presentation lengths: 10 + 2 (regular), 12 + 3 (invited/selected), 30 + 10 (plenary)
- Poster format: A0, portrait orientation

The accompanying person fee includes the welcome reception and a field trip; however, it does not cover access to the conference or the coffee breaks and lunches on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The registration fee does not include (purchased separately):
- conference dinner (80 EUR)

Student Travel Grants:
SWS Europe will offer four travel grants (250 Euros each) for students to attend the 2026 annual meeting in České Budějovice, Czechia. The grants are intended to help cover travel costs for students who will present their research at the annual meeting.
Applications from all eligible students are warmly encouraged.
The SWS Europe annual meeting offers an excellent opportunity for students to present their work, receive feedback, and connect with researchers working in related fields.
How to apply:
Submit a letter (no longer than one A4 page) containing the following information:
- who are you
- what do you study
- what will be the topic of your presentation (you will need to submit an abstract)
- how attending the conference will benefit you
- why you should receive a grant
