Libuše Vlasáková

Ms. Libuše Vlasáková has spent over two decades shaping international wetland conservation, believing that real change happens through collaboration. She has played a key role in implementing global agreements like the Convention on Wetlands and EUROBATS, forging partnerships across borders.

Libuše Vlasáková (* 1969) graduated from the Faculty of Science at Charles University in Prague, specializing in environmental protection and creation. Since 2001, she has been working at the Ministry of the Environment, where she is responsible for international conventions on nature conservation. She serves as the national contact person for the Ramsar Convention, the Bonn Convention, Eurobats, AEWA, and the Memorandum of Understanding on the Conservation of African-Eurasian Migratory Birds of Prey. She is the coordinator for the implementation of these international conventions, a project manager, and the secretary of the Czech Ramsar Committee. Head of the Czech delegation at international conferences, she represented the Czech Republic in the Standing Committee of the Ramsar Convention from 2006 to 2014 and in the Standing Committee of the Eurobats Agreement from 2007 to 2014. She has many years of experience in international cooperation in nature conservation, the preparation of strategic materials and concepts, and the organization of conferences, professional courses, and study trips at the national and international levels. One of the editors of the book Wetlands – Ecology, Protection, and Sustainable Use (2017).
