Hazem Khreisha

Hazem Khreisha (full name Hazem Yusuf Ali Al Hreisha) is a conservationist and manager of the Azraq Wetland Reserve.

He has held this position since May 2011 with The Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN), Jordan's nature conservation organization.

He is an active participant and speaker in initiatives focused on the conservation and restoration of wetlands in the Mediterranean, including campaigns such as #SpeakUpForWetlands and projects within the Mediterranean Alliance for Wetlands and MedWet Managers Network.

He has been involved in successful wetland habitat restoration projects in Azraq that have helped to attract migratory birds back and reintroduce native fish species such as the Azraq goby.

Involved in local community development and environmental education, including setting up science clubs in schools and supporting local businesses.

Research and publications: Collaborates on research projects related to hydrology and groundwater management in the Azraq area.
