Ivana Bufková

Ivana Bufková is best known as a botanist and ecologist specializing in the restoration and protection of the Šumava wetlands and peat bogs. She is a long-time employee of the Šumava National Park Administration, where she has led a team working on watercourses and wetlands since the 1990s.

She is a renowned expert in hydrological revitalization who has contributed to restoring water to large areas of the Šumava Mountains.
For her exceptionally systematic and long-term work in the field of nature conservation, she received the Josef Vavroušek Award in the category of Exceptional Achievement.

She is the author of books and articles, such as the publication Voda ztracená a vrácená (Water Lost and Returned) and contributions to the magazine Ochrana přírody (Nature Conservation).
